Girls Engineering Exploration (GEE) Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed - Event Day
Description:
Girls Engineering Exploration (GEE) is an educational seminar for ~100 specially nominated 4th – 6th grade girls throughout Detroit Public Schools with a purpose of encouraging young women to explore engineering as a career. The full day event will be just preceding National Engineering Week (March 6th 2010) at Wayne State University in Detroit. Our goal is simple: to change girls’ negative opinion of engineering/technology/math/science and encourage girls to consider careers in these very important fields.
* Minimal Time Commitment for a Large Impact!

One Day Event Volunteers:
Mentors:
Each activity mentor will be assigned ~5 girls for the day. The mentor will rotate through the activities with their teams and are encouraged to continue building the relationships after the event.
